Mural Project: Days I stopped keeping track until UNVEILING DAY!

Words cannot express how much this project has affected me, so I will show it through pictures of our process instead! I have learned more from the women and children at this center than the skills I had brought to them. They have taught me to appreciate the simple things in life and that in our darkest times we can still persevere, but most importantly they have reminded me that home is truly where the heart is.

Welcome to the “Unity Garden”. I wish you could meet all of these amazing people who helped this blossom. Actually, they walk our streets everyday. Don’t be a stranger 🙂 Have a nice day and be thankful for the simple things in life!

Love,

JUMAKAE!

((Netflix had nothing to do with it… haha))

**Update** for those who are interested in seeing the mural, the only place to see it is either inside the gates of the Long Beach Rescue Mission – Lydia House OR “Ghetto Skate Park” next door to it off of 14th and Pacific St. You’d have to fight the skater kids off the top of the ramp to catch it from a good height. Yay!
